Jerzy Jankowski - voice talent

Profile

Jerzy Jankowski – serial number 130456, wife Ewa, dog Misiek – worked at the RMF FM production studio from 1992 to 1996 as a voice artist, sound engineer (officially "radio commercial illustrator") and composer, which is no surprise given that he comes from the Abratowski family: his uncle, the late Jerzy Abratowski, wrote such evergreens as "Szeptem" and "Gdy mi ciebie zabraknie".

He ended up at RMF... as a client, wanting to order a small ad campaign. After a conversation with Wojtek Padjas, he read his own commercial himself. Earlier, after winning a Polish Radio announcer competition, he had worked in Warsaw – which is why he reads so nicely – good schooling, indeed.

Alongside Andrzej Wiernik – his idol and friend – he was the voice behind many promos, jingles and RMF commercials of that era.

He is currently a co-owner of RPM Studio, one of the largest voice-over studios and voice banks in the country, though as he himself says, "without RMF, there would be no RPM".

And in his current work he's especially glad that he often collaborates with RMF.
