Ksawery Jasieński - voice talent

Ksawery Jan Jasieński (born 13 September 1931 in Radom) is a Polish radio and television announcer and voice artist, professionally active since 1953. He comes from a family with noble roots and is a relative of Witold Gombrowicz. He graduated from the 6th Secondary School in Radom and then studied economics at the Warsaw School of Planning and Statistics.

From the start of his career he was associated with Polish Television, where he first read feature films and later became known as the voice of many nature and documentary productions. His distinctive voice became one of the most recognisable on Polish television. Involved in the "Solidarity" movement, he chaired the Circle for Broadcasting and Production, and during martial law he was suspended from radio work for six months.

From 1964, thanks to his collaboration with Jerzy Bokiewicz, he began recording books for the blind, including Polish and world literature, academic texts and poetry. In total he recorded more than 530 books, some of which were released as audiobooks.

In 1998 he lent his voice free of charge to the announcements on the Warsaw metro. His station announcements also appeared in Taco Hemingway's 2015 song "Następna stacja".
